UGBC > FRESHMEN INFO

From Chris Denice and Alejandro Montenegro, President and Vice-President of UGBC, '08-'09:
We are excited to extend our welcome to the incoming Eagles of 2012! During your time here you will have extraordinary experiences with people who will truly impact the rest of your life. We hope that you will take full advantage of all the wonderful opportunities Boston College has to offer.
UGBC was established to be the voice of the Student Community. Through campus programming and advocacy on student issues, we seek to ensure that every student can experience the very best that BC has to offer. Throughout the year we will program events like concerts and speakers, provide student services, and make certain that every single student voice on campus has the means to be heard. The doors to UGBC will always be open and we look forward to your participation.
We know that you all will enjoy your time here at BC and are thrilled that you will soon be making memories that will last a lifetime. Learn well, be safe, have fun: welcome to BC!
UGBC's goal is to serve the students by providing services and opportunities as well as to represent students in the best manner possible to the University community. To accomplish this goal, UGBC sponsors many educational, social and cultural programs, from lectures to town meetings to service programs. UGBC is also responsible for campus-wide programming, including concerts and dances. As the official representative of the students, UGBC is a significant voice and advocate for the maintenance of the quality of student life.
"Color Your Campus" is UGBC's way of saying, get involved! Leave your mark on Boston College and utilize each of your four years to their fullest. Whether you aspire to be a UGBC Senator; a director in the ALC, GLC, or UGBC Cabinet; or a role model to BC's newest volunteer force; we can help you get started. The leadership positions you will have as an upperclassman depend on your commitment as a freshman. Get started early!
