Katie Bailey is a junior in the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Economics. Katie has been in UGBC since her freshman year and loves being an advocate for others. As a member of the Mental Health Committee, Katie is passionate about issues surrounding mental health and fostering conversation to help reduce any stigma surrounding mental health. Katie will be abroad in the fall of 2017, but is always available to talk through email or phone calls!

Spry, starry eyed, and fresh into the political scene of Boston College, Nicholas is eager to participate in the experimental petri dish that is the Student Assembly. As a double major in physics and political science, the sophomore has discovered few things sexier than the grandiose banter and the pseudo-profound waxings of the university's fine student government and its no doubt dedicated members. Representing the official political factions on campus (a seemingly delicious contradiction indeed) and a member of the sustainability committee, Nicholas will waste no time in dedicating his energies to the passionate brawls of policy feuds and the resolutions thereof.

Connor Kratz is a senior studying Political Science and Sociology in the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences with plans to attend law school following his graduation from Boston College. Connor has served in the Student Assembly since his arrival at BC, advocating for students on a variety of issues from Freedom of Speech and Expression to issues of Sexual Health, Mental Health and creating an inclusive environment for all students on campus. Serving on the Health and Wellness Committee, Connor looks forward to advancing dialogues and proposals for improving the Sexual Health of students on campus in the coming year.

SA Leadership Roles

The Executive Vice President (EVP) of UGBC chairs the Student Assembly. It is her job to set the agenda, determine policy priorities, and represent the SA to both the executive branch of UGBC and the administration. The current EVP is Tt King, kingfc@bc.edu.

The Parliamentarian is the chief enforcer of the Constitution and the Standing Rules. Additionally, the parliamentarian is responsible for the legislative docket. The current Parliamentarian is Michael Zuppone, zuppone@bc.edu.

The President Pro Tempore (PPT) is the third highest officer in UGBC. It is their job to chair the SA meetings in the EVP’s absence, as well as be both a mentor and resource for the other senators.  The PPT must have at least one year experience in the SA before serving. The PPT will be determined at the SA's first meeting in September.

Each standing committee has its own director.  The EVP nominates and the SA confirms the directors.  It is the responsibility of the directors to manage their committees, lead their senators, and run their meetings. (Please refer to the section below for director names and emails.)

Likewise, each standing committee also has a vice director.  The vice directors run their committee meetings in the absence of the director and act as additional resources for senators.
