UGBC > SENATE

The Senate sponsored Easter Shuttle Buses are back! Click here to sign up before March 18th!
Senators are the representatives of the student body at Boston College. Each class directly elects five Senators, who are the only democratically chosen individuals besides the UGBC President and Vice President. Senators serve to represent the voices and interests of the student body by working together with faculty, administrators, and other members of the BC community. Our primary concern is that of the students; we encourage you to contact us with any suggestions, questions, or concerns.
We welcome you to attend our open meetings which are held weekly, every Wednesday at 9:30 PM, in 21 Campanella Way, Room 258.

- Check and balance on Executive Power
- Approve the UGBC Budget
- Reallocate funding throughout the year
- Easter and Thanksgiving Airport Shuttle buses
- Dustbowl Tables

- Collaboration with administrators and other students to renew and revise BC policies
- Advocating for students and their concerns, such as the Athletic Ticket policy, printing policy and off campus policy

The mission of the UGBC Senate is “to serve as representatives of the student body, serve as liaisons between the student organizations, the undergraduate government and the student body, secure the protection of student rights, interests and free expression, and investigate and openly discuss any matter which affects and promotes the general welfare of the student body of Boston College or elements thereof.
Hello, and welcome to the UGBC Senate website. On behalf of the entire Senate and its staff, we would like to thank you for visiting, and hope that you find our website both useful and informative.
As the leaders of the UGBC Senate, it is our job to set goals and ensure that the Senate remains committed to representing student interests here at Boston College. We believe that the Senate should be a forum where students can voice their concerns and have them addressed by their elected representatives. Furthermore, we believe that Senators should be advocates for the entire student body, serving in an honest, accessible, and professional manner.
Over the next year, during our tenure as President and Vice President, we plan to accomplish many goals we have set out to achieve. We seek to make the Senate more visible, so that students are aware of its existence and services. We seek to make the Senate more transparent, so that information about UGBC is readily available. We seek to make the Senate more professional and active, so that government works for students, instead of the other way around. These goals are our top priority, and by using our experience as leaders as well as relationships with other groups and media across campus, we can, and will, achieve them all. However, the most important relationship in our minds is our relationship with you. Without your voice, we are nothing, and it is imperative that we listen to you in order to do our job effectively. Please feel free to contact us before we contact you. Together, we can all build a better BC.
We thank you again for visiting our website, and hope to hear from you soon.
Regards,
